Expeditions Into X experiments with house and edm music while still relying on voice or instrument samples. The soundscapes were influenced by the fictional expeditions of The Southern Reach series, written by Jeff VanderMeer, exploring the idea of an alien entity reprogramming the natural surroundings, and also the protagonists experiencing this evolution. Cache Checking started as an experimental with one rule: Use only sounds recorded from TikTok, the social media app. What grew out of this limitation is an album with a New Years Eve story about a party of friends that all find themselves suddenly freed from their stagnant lives.
